Truly - what a weak year for this typically stacked category.  (At least in terms of number of performances that deserved a nomination.)

As for the win, I had a really tough time deciding between Odom and Kaluuya, and ultimately went with Odom partly because Kaluuya's gotten enough gold this season :)

But also: I actually think that the Miami script dug more deeply into Sam Cooke than the Judas script dug into Fred Hampton.  (Though overall I preferred Judas.)  This gave Odom more to work with, and I think he pretty much nailed it.  (Though he was out-acted by Kingsley Ben-Adir as Malcolm X; but he's fighting in the much-more-competitive lead category.)
