Chadwick Boseman was, of course, a great talent, who gave this performance everything he had.

But with all due respect to his body of work, I was more partial to Riz Ahmed's subtle, fully-inhabited, challenging & touching portrayal of a drummer going deaf.  He lived that complicated process of loss and adjustment and hope with such layered texture - he deserves all the gold.
