Giamatti tore my heart open with this one. It's hard to think of a pairing of actor & character that is more perfect - this film utilized every savory facet of this deliciously quirky man to its fullest degree. No one can do this flavor of comedy like he can, and anyone who comes close doesn't have nearly the capacity to breath heart-wrenching humanity into those comedic notes that Giamatti does.
