And the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay goes to...
Most experts (by a hair) predicted Nomadland, and they were JUST WRONG. Why would that win, when writer Zhao is already winning director and picture, and the dialogue was largely improvised? Over The Father, co-written by a great (Christopher Hampton) and its director (Florian Zeller), who also wrote the play on which it's based, a play (and now movie) featuring a unique structure and searingly moving dialogue?! (Especially when it's a Best Picture nominee with no other expected wins - since Anthony was a surprise.) No brainer, idiots :)
THAT SAID, I actually preferred Nomadland here, hahaha (but I'm not giving it any other Dickie Award, and didn't like The Father as much as others did.)
