Ok sure, the screenplay was my favorite element of American Fiction; but I didn't love this movie, and would have preferred to see any of these other nominees win here (especially the wildly inventive Barbie!). But, I called it correctly, and it was nice to see Cord Jefferson win - his speech was outstanding. And I love movies LIKE this (more than I liked this particular movie), and this movie benefits more from this prize than any of its competitors would have; so I'm definitely HERE for a movie like this earning this seal of approval...
